We are honored to share historic news with you.
Yoshitaka Amano’s iconic artwork HITEN (飛天) has been officially included in a UNESCO-backed space mission. Through a groundbreaking collaboration with the Japanese space company ispace and technology group Barrelhand, HITEN will be encapsulated within the Memory Disc V3 — a cultural time capsule designed to endure for millions of years — and launched on three lunar missions through 2027, including both landers and rovers.
This marks UNESCO’s first official venture into space, and Amano’s HITEN will travel beyond Earth to carry the beauty of human imagination into the cosmos.
To commemorate this moment, we’ve created a special HITEN poster celebrating this celestial journey — a tribute to the timeless vision of Amano-sensei and the universal language of art.
🛰️ “It carries the dreams of our civilization, preserving Amano’s transcendent visions, aiming to inspire future generations with the timeless beauty that speaks across millennia.”
We can’t wait to share more with you as this journey continues.
Thank you for being part of it.
Warmly,
Team Amano
